Researching the intersection of Optics, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision and Human-Centric Technology for over two decades.

Ph.D. (Applied Optics), IIT Delhi

"Life is a fractal journey, where every experience is an eigenvalue, revealing the intricate patterns of our existence."
Dr Dinesh Ganotra

About Me

I am a Professor at IGDTUW with research interests spanning Applied Optics, Digital Image Processing, Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

My academic journey began with optical metrology and wavefront analysis during my doctoral work at IIT Delhi. Over the years, my research expanded into facial expression analysis, pain intensity detection, deep learning, image restoration, human-computer interaction and intelligent vision systems.

I strongly believe that teaching and research should complement each other. Every research problem is an opportunity to inspire students, and every classroom interaction is an opportunity to discover new research questions.
