About me

I am a Professor at IGDTUW with research interests spanning applied optics, digital image processing, computer vision, artificial intelligence and machine learning.

My academic journey began with optical metrology and wavefront analysis during my doctoral work at IIT Delhi. Over the years it expanded into facial expression analysis, pain intensity detection, deep learning, image restoration, human-computer interaction and intelligent vision systems.

I believe teaching and research should feed each other. Every research problem is a chance to interest a student, and every classroom hour throws up questions worth researching.
